When it comes to music, Séamus has always explored a blend of genres and styles. His musical influences include Americana, trad Irish music, Spanish guitar music, classical, bluegrass, jazz, finger-style and folk. As a young person he studied classical guitar and composition with guitarist and composer Ed Flower and classical acting at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. His integration and understanding of both music and drama brings a unique expression to his performances in both art forms.

Séamus has composed and performed with Quiet In The Head- a violin/guitar duo, Meg and Séamus (formerly Living Roots) - an “innovative folk duo” and as a solo artist. He has shared his music and theater pieces in many venues around the world including The Round House (London) The Barbican Center (London), The Belgian National Theatre (Brussels), La Mama (NYC) and The Cutting Room (NYC). Séamus has composed scores for productions of Twelfth Night, Much Ado About Nothing, The Snow Goose and he has also written several choral pieces for seasonal festivals. He has worked as an actor and musician with Improbable Theatre (London), The Actor’s Ensemble (NYC), Triple Shadow (NYC) and Le Groupov (Belgium). He is a recipient of The Sir John Gielgud Award For Excellence In Acting and is the Artistic Director of The Actors’ Ensemble- a theater company that puts the actor at the center of the theater event with a focus on the Michael Chekhov approach for actors. Séamus has taught speech, movement and acting in many contexts including at The New School (NYC), California State University (LA), Stevens College (MO), The Michael Chekhov School (NY) and at many primary schools and high schools in the US and abroad. Séamus also works one one with individuals who wish to learn about the guitar, composition, songwriting, speech or the art of acting.

In addition to his work as an actor and musician Séamus is also author of the book titled Parzival- A Journey of Initiation, has written an number of plays including A Solo Interrupted and Ascalon. He is also co-author for an online distance learning course through EducareDo called Speech and Drama as Living arts. He is a member of Developing The Self Developing The World, a collegial group of educators, health practitioners and artists who offer inner development, health and education workshops to support communities around the world. Séamus also shares one person dramatic presentations from the Parzival Legend in schools, theaters, for communities and in support of The Inner Work Path, which offers ways of engaging with esoteric studies as outlined by Rudolf Steiner.
